FOUR! Lockie Ferguson to Sarfaraz Ahmed. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep point for 4 runs. Full toss, and Sarfaraz cracks the ball into the gap to finish things off. What an amazing victory for Pakistan. It was a must-win game for them, and they have produced a superb performance. Quality with the ball, and controlled with the bat. New Zealand weren't at the races today. They couldn't recover enough from the awful start they had, and were just totally outclassed. That sets up the rest of the tournament beautifully now. The race for the fourth spot it hotting up!The World Cup action will continue tomorrow, with India taking on the West Indies. It should be a thriller.

OUT! Run Out. Wahab Riaz to Colin de Grandhomme. Slower ball short, to leg on the back foot Steer, to third man for 1 run, fielded by Amir, by Ahmed. Takes the risk of challanging Amir's arm down at third man, and it doesn't pay off. Two was never on there, but de Grandhomme still went for it. Decent throw to the keeper, and Sarfaraz has plenty of time to remove the bails. Gone by a distance.

OUT! Caught. Shadab Khan to Kane Williamson. Leg spinner length ball, off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ahmed. That's the one that Pakistan wanted! Crazy celebrations round the ground. It's an absolute peach from Shadab, and it needed to be to get rid of Williamson. Had to play at it, the perfect amount of turn to flick the edge of the bat, and Sarfaraz swallows it behind the stumps to give them the breakthrough.

OUT! Caught. Shaheen Afridi to Tom Latham. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ahmed. Shaheen is ripping through this Kiwi batting line up! The Pakistan crowd are loving it in Birmingham. Latham was leaving it well, but decides to play at this one, when he really didn't have to. Just enough movement off the pitch to kiss the outside edge, and it's a much simpler grab for Sarfaraz this time. First class bowling from the 19 year old.

OUT! Caught. Shaheen Afridi to Ross Taylor. Seaming away length ball, down leg side on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ahmed. That is a huge wicket. That is a stunner of a catch! Brilliant from Pakistan. They are on fire so far. The perfect delivery from Shaheen, making Taylor play with an accurate line, and getting it to deck away off the surface. The ball glanced the outside edge, then the Pakistan captain pulled off an incredible grab. He flung himself as far as he could to his right, and it stuck into the middle of the outstretched hand. New Zealand are in big trouble now.

OUT! Caught. Shaheen Afridi to Colin Munro. Seaming away length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to first slip, by Sohail. Edged and gone! What a start for Pakistan here. Munro goes flashing outside the off stump, and this time it's the outside edge that gets taken. Healthly nick, which flies through to first slip at head height. Comfortably snatched up by Haris to give his team their second scalp.

NEW BALL. OUT! Bowled. Mohammad Amir to Martin Guptill. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to. Amir strikes first ball! Guptill fails again at the top of the order. Not the best of deliveries. Very full, very wide, but it tempts the Kiwi into going after it. Throws the kitchen sink at it, but doesn't get the weight going into the shot. Thick inside edge on the drive, and the ball cannons back into the stumps. Massive Pakistan support in Edgbaston today, and they go wild.

W
OUT! Caught. Kane Williamson to Mohammad Hafeez. Off break length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Ferguson. He's been a hero with the bat for New Zealand, and now he is producing with the ball. Huge breakthrough for the Kiwis. Not sure what Hafeez is playing at, as he charges out the crease, and looks to plant it over the rope. Unnecessary shot, and he shanks it straight down the throat of the fielder in the deep.

W
OUT! Caught. Lockie Ferguson to Imam ul-Haq. Short, down leg side on the back foot Fended, Spliced to gully, by Guptill. The pace of Ferguson is already causing Pakistan problems! A nasty bouncer to Imam, and he cannot deal with it. An awkward poke of the bat in hope, and the ball pops up high off the bat to gully. Guptill has to sprint forward, and dives full length to cling on before it touches the ground.
In over# 3
Runs : 0 Bowler: Trent Boult Wickets : 1

W
OUT! Caught. Trent Boult to Fakhar Zaman. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot flick, leading edge in the air uncontrolled to point, by Guptill. Boult hits back against this rapid start from Pakistan. A false stroke from Fakhar gives New Zealand their first wicket. Looks to pick it up and shovel it over the legside, but is through the shot too early. It spoons straight up off the back of the bat, and Guptill settles underneath it before grabbing on with both hands.
